The WFE is composed of a control valve and media tank.  The valve utilizes air to oxidize iron and controls the flow of water through the media tank.  As the water flows through the tank, iron is removed by the media.  Iron free water is sent to the whole house.  The media is long lasting and does not need regeneration.  No chemicals or salt are required to maintain the media. 

At up to 7.5 gallons per minute flow rate capacity and 1.5 cubic feet of media, this system has capacity to clean all water in 1-2 person homes.  Maintaining the WFE requires no salt or chemicals.  Replacement cycle for the media is once every 8 – 10 years.

Installation of a WFE before a VZN, WSS, or RO will protect treatment systems from degradation by preventing iron to foul media and membranes.
